Helping you write the book you want
Need help with your book? Stuck and not sure how to move the writing process along? Your book’s finished but you want some fresh eyes on it? Or perhaps you’re after some advice on putting together a proposal to attract a publisher or agent?

With over two decades experience in the publishing business – both as an editor and a writer – I can help! I have over thirty books to my name as an author and have edited many more besides. My client list includes agile and prestigious independents to ‘Big Five’ publishers including Macmillan and Hachette. For the last few years, I have also worked through a number of editorial agencies to provide everything from editorial assessment and development services to copyedits, proofreads and blurb-writing.

Wherever you are in your writing journey – whether you have some rough ideas jotted down on a scrap of paper or a publisher is all lined up to print your almost-finished manuscript– I can offer assistance if you’ve hit a bump in the road or just need a bit of friendly guidance. Feel free to contact me through the website and I’ll give you an honest appraisal of what help I can provide, what that help will look like and how much it will cost.
Client Testimonials
'Dan was a huge help to me when I was pursuing publication of my book. He knew exactly who to contact to put my proposal in front of the right people, and after months and months of pursuing other publishers independently with no success I had a response within the same day! He also offered hugely helpful advice on the proposal and contract, and explored other avenues on my behalf. I'm so grateful for Dan's help, and feel confident that I wouldn't be where I am right now - with a book soon to be published - without his expert knowledge of the publishing landscape.'
- Dr Phoebe Hill, Head of Theology at Youthscape
‘I really appreciated working with Dan. He is always very responsive and professional. He does what he says (on the tin). Technically he is highly proficient and his experience shows.
I think there are three things that make him outstanding.
1. He GOT the the project and had an instinctive feel for what I needed.
2. He was interested in it and took time to understand it.
3. He builds trust swiftly and easily.
Thanks Dan, pleasure working with you.’
– Mike Croll, author of Security (currently on submission with a major literary agent)
